3. Circular fashion#

This week I worked on designing and cutting felt to put creativity into action and learn what could come out from this…

to design the proper assembly cut out, i had to measure the felt width.

we had two colors to work with, and so I was ready to experiment and discover the potential and characteristics of this technique

a little hand bag was made to “play” with the possibilites and gain more confidence

then my dear girlfriend donated an old bag to “reuse” into a new project which she sew together!

BEAUTYFULL!

spliting the red and blue felt colors into different projects became evident after noticing together it looked like spiderman uniform!!

Noticing that the amount of felt (male /female) cut parts were not that many… the idea of a “short Torero vest” seemed a great solution. so I decided to focus on putting together first the two sides of every shoulder which seemed like the difficult part (at first)

however when trying to assemble them together I start to panic! cause it wasnt looking good!

the shoulders were falling in a “A” style and at the same time it felt already adjusted to my body. and what about the camel hump!!!

however loosing a bit from the bottom and assembling the middle part was the miracle!

the next challenge… close it all and check for movility! thankgoodness!! all good!

once finished I couldnt escape “the official photos as a fashion designer and super model” ;)

Most important is to notice how the shoulders are quite straight now! (horizontal) which simply got fixed by closing upwards the vest next to the neck.

next photo shows my favorite design feature. the top was assembled with all “leaves” on the same side which form a “flowers like design” and the bottom part was assembled half way on front and half way on back wich created the spaced lines that “clean the design and add a richer diversity of textures at the same time”

shoulder details thats what it all comes down to.... details!
