6. Computational Couture#
For this week’s project I wanted to 3D print a wearable piece and try recreating exsisting designs for practice purposes. I also wanted to use TPU filament which stands for Thermoplastic polyurethane that has a flexible nature.
Research#
Looking up online, i found alot of creative 3D printed garments and wearables. But one design/ pattern that i found most interesting was this- photo below.
Using that design as an inspiration I created the below design
It wasnt exactly what i wanted so i started recreating the same design. I created a unit (bottom left) and repeated it on the X and Y axis (right) I also added a pattern to allow it to strech further than the original design but it was not succesful as the empty space between the line was too small and ended up as one piece.
