3. Circular fashion#

This week was about circular fashion, we were asked to create a modular garment or use it in a garment. And since i use CorelDraw as a two design software almost everyday i go through the basic shapes everyday, and for this assigment i decided to use the basic shapes withing the software to create my modular garment.

And here are some test pieces for these shapes. But i didnt end up using it becasue it was connecting four pieces and i facing issues making it bigger with out it looking so chunky.

Then i took the slit or the smile on the smiley face and played around with it

The shapes kept evolving until i ended up with something like the photo bellow , wich i really liked but didnt know what to do with at first.

So i started connecting pieces together and i really liked the effect it created!

So i used this modular to join two pieces together and it works by creating cuts in the material where the modular can connect to it as you can see in the photo

I also used it to create a bracelet too

In an attempt to create a garment that can be made completely out of the same cut out pieces i had to create somethign that can connect and be connected all around and so i created the shape below by manipulating oval shapes and welding them together.

And tested it out using different sizes for the circles

At that point i was happy with the design and that it worked but i wanted to try a different material so i went ahead and cut it out of canvas. I tried to save as much material as i can by arranging the modulars in this way on coreldraw

This what the material looks like when its cut

Then assembeled it to fit the size of the mannequin, and it was a perfect fit!

I still need to put a waist band for it but this is basically the final result
