8. Computational Couture

This week we learned the wide amount of possibilities of 3D printing into textiles, how we could manage movement and texture into a piece of textile in such a way that we could obtain one of the most valuable garment' requirements of a personalized garment SHAPE and FIT. We visited Eurecat in Canet de Mar, where we were capable to do our first 3D printing project by using Blackbelt printer and 3D Factory Incubator in Barcelona. The main challenge on regards of this technology is the amount of time and energy that we could use for producing into a more scalable volume of garments. My personal journey as a designer always takes me to geometrical patterns and this week I tried to resemble the geometrical patterns that exists in the Amazon Anaconda's skin (main protection entity of Shipibo Conibo Cosmovision). I am truly amazed and inspired by the outstanding work of two international designers Alexander McQueen and Iris Van Herpen.
