3. Circular fashion¶
This week I worked on design of pattern for circular fashion and assembling those patterns into a garment. This is a nice picture I found from India:

For this very interessting topic I used 3D design software Rhino and Fusion 360. Actual inspiration for design of this pattern were peanuts. I like peanuts and the shape is also very interesting.
For me it is easier to imagine how the parts are going to look like when they are cutted if I extrude the sketch into 3D body.
The final version of the pattern has now two cutts on each side. The rason for this is the desision to be flexible concerning the size of the garnment.
As von Zoe recomended, I cutted the pattern in paper to test the connection and also the shape of the module.
Before cutting with lasercutter, I made the tests concerning the different power and speed settings with the material I wanted to use. Also made some engraving tests at the same turn.
For doing the tests it was necessary to set the layers in Rhinozeros to different colours, which are seted later to the speed and power.
Befor cutting with laser cutter it is important to set the focus to the height of the material I am going to use. For this I used the Focus tool which is to see as aluminum triangle. When The tool touches the surface of the material I can use "jog" for moving the Laser head at this height in x and y-Achis. Before I set the Focus I had to choose the "Focus" menue using the Up and Down arrows. According to Adrianas tipp I moved the Laser head back, as a result, the tool has turned oblique. Now I just nedded to move very smal stepps down until it turned perpendicular to the material surface. For this I used the "Jog" menue. Then I settled the tool and clicked on "reset" (grey round) button. The laser was almoust ready to cut.
Befor starting the Job which I sent to the cutter by clicking on "Print" button in Rhino it is essential to turn on the vertilation system of the cutter.
To save material it is important to lay the pattern as close as possible to each other.
I tryed to cut with different settings because the cat was not clear, as to see in the image below.
Finaly it was evrything clearly cutted and I could cut all the peaces.
For assembling the right way it was important to pay the attention to the different orientation of the Pattern on different sides.
And this garment I got using the pattern above after a few hours of assembling :
