Design¶
During my creative process it has been very helpful for me to look for the right combination of these two worlds starting mainly from ornamental shapes, jewelry, forms and joints. The sketches were helpful in seeking inspiration from the costume and making it contemporary but at the same time I had the goal of creating a simple paper pattern that would enhance the fabric I was going to create. I was looking for a balance.
Layers that give three-dimensionality¶
Having visualized the design I wanted to achieve, I tried to figure out what would be the best option taking into account the material I would use and the probability of failure.
- an interlocking module: - construction of the base to which the module strips will be interlocked.
- creation of the module strips that will be arranged in a mold with slots to hold the strips in tension into which transparent biomaterial (agar) will be poured that will hold the strips connected.
