Final cut¶
Having the biomaterials and files ready on Rhino, I cut both the forms and the final paper pattern (both on the agar-based bioplastic and the agar-silk bioplastic)
For the final cut, I used the machine settings tested with the biomaterial samples:
Speed | Max Power | Min Power |
---|---|---|
70 | 60 | 50 |
While cutting biomaterials in Alginate, I noticed that the machine was smearing ash on the biomaterial, which I cleaned with a brush.
I tried to insert the forms on the clear agar-based bioplastic but unfortunately it was too brittle and the cuts expanded so I had to use the silk-based one with a layer of agar on top. So the final modules chosen are some sodium alginate-based others agar-based while base is inset with a layer of agar-based bioplastic
