Final Project7 Middle Presentation¶
WEEK 7: From February 20 - February 26
The feedback!¶
Thank you all for all these very useful feedback!
BECKY Lovely work, lovely presentation ! I really like that you start with the social focus, that is a nice framing "Social design" really centers around identifying the problem, and the user is always the center of the attention in social design I think you could be more focused on yourself as the case study, in terms of the problem you want to solve, or work with a small group of individuals, to who you always ask : "am i solving the problem ?" You could strengthen that in the project a little bit.
You could also work more around the choice of pattern + choice of placement you could really build around using the design in a more symbolic way, because products can give us a sense of reassurance How can you go about building that attachment and tell that story ?
RICARDO I adore the idea, it is brilliant. I am a very clumsy person, and I always face these situations where i have all those things in my hands and keep asking people around "can you hold this" I like this solution, and the fact that you are trying different places and formats to test it. I think you're doing great, i would buy this ! Can i attach this thing to my own bag ? (after your answer) One thing that occurs to me right now is maybe to have some hooks, this way you could easily transfer from one bag to another without stitching
ANASTASIA I think it would be interesting to illustrate these kind of situations even more in the presentation : Maybe you have a little part of video where something happens, where someone searches for something, like an uncomfortable everyday situation This is the kind of situation we all take for granted, but why ?
Also it would be amazing if there was a magical way that it can fit everywhere. That would require to go more into how it attaches ; it should be your next experiments : attachments And maybe this can also give you hints on how the design needs to be, around the attachments
And very nice presentation !
DIANE I really like that you're asking this question in one of your slides : "how can fablabs help to improve the daily life of citizens, especially those who cannot access these technologies" I think it is an important question !
I like the video of usage in real life, where we see you using it !
Overall I think the flow of the presentation and context is very well explained, and you have a very systematic approach to the different aspects of the problem
I like that the idea is that people can decide where they want to put it / how they want to use it, you're not forcing a bag out of this Idea for the final presentation/video : ask different people to wear it, how they would use it/customize it, where, etc., to have different examples
As a final note on the presentation itself :
- you could sometimes have less text in the slides
- you should have a last slide at the end to conclude (it could just say something like "thank you for listening", or it could open up a question to the listeners, etc.)
