Let's create
During the research I found lots of design interventions in spaces to make introverts feel more comfortable when they aren't at home. Each of those designs had the purpose to isolate introverts. In other lectures I found some accesories to make extroverts emphatize with intoverts. This accesories have a similar approach that is: hidding introverts. I have to admit that weeks ago I thought something really similar but now I don't think that getting away from everyone will be something that I'd enjoy. Overall, I rescue some fashion designs from introverts that I may consider later to transform those accesories into something that matches my expectations.

The Hydrozoa dress
is made of cellular deep-sea aquarelles of dark purples and turquoise shades that were painted by sheleeart, to then be heatbonded and layered into 3D transparent lasercut PetG leaves.
The file-work of each layer is drawn to hang upwards, blooming aquatically with each movement like living coral.
The Symbiotic
dress is made of gradient-dyed silk panels of shuiro red and white, to be 3D layered and heat-bonded into sculptural volume by a fine 3D lasercut frame of PetG.

The Holobiont
dress is created from Ocean Plastic®️ fabric that was made from upcycled marine debris by Parley from the Oceans, to then be printed and parametrically lasercut into fine triangle tessellations that create a translucent and fragile interconnectedness with the skin through seamless gradients.
▪ Sketches
With that I started with the sketches. At the beggining I came up with the idea of some hats with lots of ligths in it and I was trying to combine it with a neck piece. I'm in love with neck pieces and in my day-a-day I always use tiny necklaces with my outfit. At the end I was not sure about the hat because I didn't find it very attached to me, but a necklace or neck piece definitely is something I would use it. Besides, doing the hat thing would be to keep hiding myself but behind the lights, which didn't make much sense to me. So I started to generate ideas for a necklace and I came up with the following:
It's worth mentioning that for me the neck is a very important point, first because I find it very attractive on me (and in others) and because at the same time (ironic) it's my weak point. Okay, I got the sketch for my neck accesory but I need it to glow and catch the attention from others. I chosed kind of an organic shape for the central piece that is similar to a flower but also seems to be like an star. And then I chosed to complete that piece with some petals because while I was developing the project I thought about this experience not only as a glow up or a celebration but also as the blooming of my personality that I had been suppressing for a long time.
For making it glow, I got inspired from an article about Bodily Maps of Emotions I think is really interesting how our body manifests our different emotions. Whenever I experience a strong emotion in public, my neck turns red and my skin looks like I have an allergy. At first this was something I wanted to hide but now I want to use that to make an accessory react. For me it is important that the object to be used has a bidirectional communication with the user and therefore, my body temperature will cause there to be an action of the object (which will be light), and in response to that, I will know that I am glowing and everyone notices it. This will somehow make people focus their attention more on the light and the glow and no longer on my redness, which would make me more comfortable (I guess) but this is all part of the glow up experience.
