LEATHER WASTE: SECOND LIFE & NEW TEXTURES¶
RESEARCH & INSPIRATION¶
The focus of this other theme is on a new life for leather waste. A lot of waste is produced in the world, so using the technique of modular fashion, I thought of creating new textures made of interlocks and weaves from leather scraps.
For this project I decided to ask for help from a client in Italy, GLEDsrl by Filippo Fanini, who produces leather for clothing and accessories, at this link you can find the website of the company.
Actually, he has already started an interesting project on leather waste, here below the video of this wonderful fashion recycling initiative:

So all the real leather material I will use in my project comes from GLEDsrl directly from Italy.
The inspiration for the design will be the same as for the Kombucha Leather theme. I would like these two themes, real leather and bio-leather, to create a connection between them.
