CONCEPT¶
PROJECT: æ sensation map¶
exploring human body sensations mimicry through textiles and electronics
The idea is to create a library of soft sensors swatches, whose can be demonstrated individually and sensors can be connected to each other. Each sensor would have a separate controller. When creating sensors, I would aim for the softest and most flexible material and compactness.
MOODBOARD¶
I was inspired by artistic textile explorations of the human body, the variety of expressive forms and concepts, and the use of different materials.
5 WS¶
WHAT¶
Electronic textile swatches KIT for mobile workshops. Electronic textile xamples with the possibility to explore them by interacting and at the same time understanding how it works. Also, with the possibility to replicate the swatches with provided documentation.
WHY¶
I always dreamed about this kind of educational kit when traveling through the FabLab in Schools program - to create soft electronic samples and a kit. The tools and machines for replicating samples should be compact enough to fit into a regular car so one person can pack and go to do workshops almost anywhere. The biggest inspiration for this idea is Bart Bakker. He is the creator of miniFabLab.nl and currently investigates the possibilities of mobile FabLabs and Makerspaces. Whether in trucks, trailers or trikes.
WHO¶
I believe that smart textiles are the future of human clothing and simple examples would be a good way to introduce and inspire students, teachers, designers and artists to this future. On the other hand, it could serve as sensory material in the field of psychiatry, but I think that this field would require tests and consultations with specialists, and perhaps it would be a separate topic.

WHEN¶
I have created a GANT that I will try to follow. As Nuria said, later I will be able to compare it with the real timeline of the process and assess the possibilities. I understand that this project is quite ambitious and can be endless because it might be many swatches examples.
