Spanish Algae Bank¶
The Spanish Algae Bank (BEA) is a scientific and technological infrastructure located in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, created in 1989. With the objective of collecting, conserving and supplying strains of microalgae and macroalgae for use in research, biotechnology, aquaculture and other applications.
The BEA has a collection of more than 3,000 strains of algae, a library of information on algae and a laboratory for cultivation and biomass production. In addition, it carries out research and development projects in the field of algal biotechnology, collaborates with companies and universities in the transfer of knowledge and technology, and promotes scientific dissemination on the role of algae in the environment and society.

Yaung Algaeneers Symposium 2023¶
YAS event consists of the global networking and sharing of algae-based research, development, and innovations among the Young Algaeneers. The essence of the symposium lies in the fact that it is organized BY & FOR the Young Algaeneers.
This is the 7th edition, but this will be my first time presenting the BiomassLab project with a wide variety of colleagues in the microalgae industry in 9, 10 & 11 of May in Faro, Portugal.
