01 Concept¶
5 Ws¶
who¶
fashion bloggers; theatre actors and performers; dancers
what¶
i will be creating a garment that is audio-reactive with the use of electronics and projection mapping. moreover, the shape of the garment is heavily influenced by Rei Kawakubo's Body Meets Dress–Dress Meets Body, for SS97, in which she explores the subject/object dichotomy: What if the shape of our clothes helped define us, instead of the other way around? this, for me, plays a large role in subverting the notion of one size fits all and other rigid beauty standards.
when¶
this concept is readily availble to engender in present day, however it would also be very interesting to explore and expand the concept when the days of iphones are gone and, instead, vr glasses and projected screens serve as a new method of projecting visuals onto clothing.
where¶
this performance can be conducted at home, or in larger venues such as the theatre, on stage, any enclosed rooms with a projector and dark lighting
why¶
expression through clohting via music and sounds we listen to. enable us to make visible our inner playlist, music taste and mood by creating audio-reactive visuals that can be projected onto our garment/screens. see more on my pitch page.
References and Inspiration¶
I have linked references of previous projects and performances that inspired me to go along with this idea of a visually dynamic and everchanging garment.
