Available to view here
Gantt Chart based on general timeline
Early - Mid Jan
- Further define and understand project and parameters
- Observe + study body
- Collect inspiration / references / contextualization
- Start on initial designs and samples
Jan 9 - Feb 29
- Further designs and samples
- Make designs
- Finalise pieces
March 1 - March 27
- Film / photograph pieces
- Edit film / video
- Finalise documentation
Possible Issues¶
Possible issues that may arise & interfere with Timeline
- Things always take longer then originally thought - Do not waste time !
- Work out Fab Academy Schedule so not using the lab equipment / machines at the same time
- Issues with materials / machines - things not working
Conclusion¶
- The making process took much longer then originally anticipated, which resulted in pushing back filming and editing
- Feedback from others resulted in designs being re-thought which took more time

The idea, vision & aim
Describe the human body, specifically looking at flesh, fibre and form and make the invisible visible.
This comprises of three characters: The Skin, The Muscles and The Skeleton.
Using Textiles and technology to visually describe the flexibility of the skin, the fibre direction and dimensionality of the muscles and the illuminated X-Ray for the Skeleton.
In order to captivate the audience, these garments posses an interactive quality which come to life when worn.
This demonstration will hopefully be thought-provoking, inspiring and make people think & appreciate their own bodies.
Within these pieces, most weeks of the Fabricademy course are incorporated to celebrate this newly gained knowledge and demonstrate what can be done with it.
The overall tone of this video is a seductive display. The idea of a ‘striptease’ ...maybe gone too far
S T O R Y B O A R D¶
The aim for the Final Project was always to be shown in the form of a film. I had a strong visualisation of what I wanted, so I drew some rough sketches to see it and be able to show and describe to other people. Since I was collaborationg with three dancers and musical composer, as well as pitching my idea a lot these sketches and timings were essential and very useful.
- Starting off introducing with a title, setting the scene with the stage, posing performers and musical compostition
- Introducing the three charaters - The Skin, The Muscles & The Skeleton
Intro 0:00 - 0:10 - (undecided) Possibilities 1. Aerial view of ceiling, spinning down to performers 2. Scapel 'cutting' fabric to reveal scence 3. Blurry focus -> focus 4. Drawing becomes scene blend. Scene 01 0:10 - 1:00 - Skin - Goodess, Etheral, Playful, Statuesque, Posing Scene 02 1:00 - 1:50 - Skin unravels to reveal Muscles underneath. Muscles (front) are Elegant, Slow, Silky.
Scene 03 1:50 - 2:35 - Muscles turns around to show back - Movement is more Raw, Fluid, Dynamic, Stretched, Tension Scene 04 2:35 - 3:25 - Sketlon comes to life - Slow, Seductive, Illuminate. Lights are activated in oufit and house lights go off.
Scene 05 3:25 - 3:30 - Lights finish and left in total darkness Scene 06 3:30 - 3:35 - Credits
