- Heidi Klum Halloween Costume?
- Correct AnatomicL Structure: doctor looks at it and says yes
- Maybe could encorporate deformations, anomaly
- Create the storyline for garments
Cecilia
hey hey Stephanie! Well done! great presentation, your way of looking at the body, is contagious, inspiring and energising! I love how much detail is clearly present in each part, technically, in terms of craftsmanship and artistically in the variety of pattern/garment design.
Anastasia
very nice balance between the time you spent for the concept and then what you have done. nice narrative! here you can find many nice resources of anatomy illustrations! i enjoy the idea of various layers. i am just wondering if there should be the full anatomy or some specific topic, like for example the breast glandules, or as ricardo was saying to bring awareness of some specific anomaly or defect. check gudrita lape from barcelona for inflatables. do not use silicone it's too heavy. actually you can have some small hand pumps either on the foot or and any articulation!
Claudia
Stephanie, the approach is great, like the performance idea with integration of diferent materials and technologeis. xrays (lights) muscles (3d) - skin layer (flexibility) - the layering and the choice of colors and materials are very coherent - skeleton: you can also 3d print with glow in the darkness filament and used in combination with neopixels. be sure to diffuse the lights. Balenciaga dress can be a reference too https://www.vam.ac.uk/articles/x-raying-balenciaga // revealing things not visible to the naked eyes - also remember all bodies are unique and asymmetricals

"Under the clothes...and under the skin"...a very evocative statement! The 3D printed form was so gorgeous!!! But then I was disappointed that it didn't move...that the filament used was hard and not flexible and can stretch and distort like muscle. And then the bone expression...was soft...and rejected the natural characteristic of the skeleton to be hard, stiff and provide structure. So said simply...the physical expression of "muscle" and "bone" seems to be criticism of their natural characteristic...not a celebration of them. I vote for letting the muscle expression have plasticity, elastic and movement...and for the skeleton expression be scaffold-like and maybe even gangly.

Love the "bring the inside out" tagline :D About the presentation in itself, I would definitely put the "Imagined" slide earlier, because it's impactful and we really see what you want to do with the project. (but it might be because I already know the project and am excited about it!!) I don't remember if I told you in the last mentoring session, but I really like that you merged the two "muscles" ideas into one garment, with the two techniques.
Maro (paraphrased/ wriiten in my own notes)
- Project is clear and easily understandable
- Relevance to traditional techniques : what techniques, the history of them and why? How did you discover them / get interested ?
- The main point = Anatomy, think about the representation of anatomy: which anatomical bodies ? A lot of study and representation is on the western white man. What is the history of Anatomy? Which Anatomical bodies am I trying to understand / represent: Healthy? Gender? Race? Scientific? Define which aspect I am supporting. Is there a difference between the Western World representation of anatomy and other parts of the world?
- We have been thinking about anatomy for a long time, say something more: living anatomy + step forward = what do I want to say / add? Ideally want to change the viewers opinion after looking at project = never look at the world the same way after I look at the work / See this as an opportunity to change peoples idea and viewpoint!
- Mary Magic = kombucha super bodies
- History of costumes & what is my place in this history? E.g. the history of skeleton representations in costumes?
- Push idea = why choose certain movements? Seduction -> why?, history? Seduce audieence
- Video is final piece = very important, must charm with video. Watch videos and build visual culture
- Excited = get other people excited!!!
- Fleshy Representation

Very helpful to have an array of opinions and different perspectives.

The mid term presentation I found a bit deconstructive, however after thinking about it, I concluded that somethimes you need to deconstruct in order to construct and reaffirm ideas and concepts.
I found the meeting with Maro the most helpful and resurrected my spirit with the project and myself.
