About me
Born and raised in Porto, Portugal, in 2002.
I’m a fashion enthusiast, eager to acquire more knowledge about art, biology, technology, and more diverse sustainable ways of producing or modifying textiles without destroying everything among us.
In this period of time, what matters most to me is being able to achieve my ambitions honestly with a pure conscience, and that my learning stage never ends.
Fabricademy is one big family. Here to spread awareness, educate others, learn from them, and in one way or another, through innovative methods, change everyone's future.
I couldn’t be more honored and delighted to be part of this extraordinary community.
Throughout this journey, I look forward to experimenting and playing with printing techniques. For the longest time I’ve been consumed by traditional prints and patterns. I'm thrilled to search and produce alternative approaches and textiles to reinvent these magical designs.
my background¶
education¶
Analogic by my friend Satenig, Porto (PT), 2024.
Escola Superior de Artes e Design (ESAD), Porto, PT - 2020-2024. BA Design Degree - Fashion.
LCI Barcelona, Escuela de Diseño y Artes Visuales, Barcelona, ES - 2022-2023. 5 month Erasmus program.
Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis (EASR), Porto, PT - 2017-2020. Product Design especialized in Wood and Metal.
In high school I chose Product Design, although I feel I should've studied Artistic Production. I think that these choices make a huge difference in your life, but in the end, it’s all worth it. Even if I feel that Product Design never reflected me and that I’ve always felt trapped in artistic terms, I enjoyed all the process and people I’ve met. But just know that it's ok if certain things don’t suit you. The next thing will suit you twice as much.
I connected with the fashion world some years ago, I ended up sitting in a fashion show in Portugal, and I left saying that fashion was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I have a bachelor's degree in fashion design and I am very passionate about photography, cinema, prints and patterns, abstract art, dysmorphia, distortion, and utopian.
I’ve had the opportunity to play with 3d printing. It's such a great and fun method to work with, so powerful, and has infinite possibilities. That is one skill that I’m excited to work on during Fabricademy, especially because recently I started doing 3D sculpting.
In 2023, I was a participant in the 6th edition of iTechStyle Green Circle Post and the goal was to make one or more garments of materials with responsible production from Portuguese textile companies. It was a rewarding experience.
previous work¶
photography, just for fun¶
Photography has become one of my favorite visual arts over the years. There's something special about taking a long walk, bringing a camera, and then feeling excited to come home and edit the photos. I looove editing, as it allows me to unleash my creativity and make new narratives.
Here below are some of my recent photos, from Amsterdam, few places in Portugal, and my latest trip to Marrakech.
fashion collections¶
During my fashion degree, I developed a lot of different collections, here below I share some of them. Always followed by a description of the concept, moodboard, sketches, and final pieces.
Note: a couple of the collections were conceived without final pieces, just a vast quantity of sketches, not all of which are shown.
My university was more focused on brainstorming and designing, not so much on pattern making and sewing. Fortunately, I had the opportunity, while I was in Barcelona, to get more in-depth knowledge of the technical side.
But hopefully, after graduating from Fabricademy I would love to profound my technical skills for me to be able to have a different perspective when creating fashion.
personal sketchbook 2023.
This sketchbook is about myself and how I percieve the world around me. It has been a rollercoaster to get to know myself and develop the singular artist inside me. I believe I’m not done yet finding my vision and ending my exploring journey, because I don’t want my world to get smaller, and that’s an ideology I rule my life with. Here are some of my interests metamorphosed into collages, drawings, and prints.
ecodesign project¶
This project was a group assignment for the Estrategies D’Eco-Disseny subject at LCI Barcelona. The purpose was to only use existing resources, for that, RECOVO gave us deadstock textiles to work with.
Additionally, my group decided to incorporate student waste from LCI Barcelona. I created the big jacket by patchworking all the waste together. Every week, I would collect fabric waste from each classroom at the school, some of which was of good quality and substantial quantity. In addition to the jacket, I also designed and brought to life a pink jumpsuit to complement the environment.
This project brought me immense pleasure as it revolved around sustainability and circularity. I learned a lot from the project and the subject itself and these are steps that I will always reflect on.
