Research & Ideation¶
BISHGOSH¶
The last couple of years I have been developing my concept for bishgosh fabric. A smart textile that is more breathable, body temperautre regulating, hormone balancing, and sensory friendly without the unnecessary PFAs and poly fabrics, and never compromising on comfortability, functionality or fashionability.
I imagine this textile to include copper as an anti inflammatory property infused with bio plasma and have it transmitted through electromagnetic hertz frequency to promote healing, symptom relief or body regulation in whichever way the wearer needs.
Inspiration & Research¶
As a competitive athlete growing up, I struggled a lot with joint pain, hormone and body temperature disregulation and countless injuries thanks to my chronic illness. Over the years I have had to say goodbye to many sports I love because of the strain it puts on my body. Like running, my knees can't take it, muy thai, dance and soccer I had to give up. I'm lucky my body has allowed me to continue with many other sports I love like golf, skiing, paddling, yoga, tennis, hiking, etc. Being able to play these sports still, does not mean they have not brought me discomfort or pain. Determined to stay active and continue to partake in the sports I love, I decided to get serious about finding new ways to manage my pain.
Companies like Nikwax and Goretex that specilize in waterproofing and body temp ruglating, Keshe Foundation that makes bio plasma infused suits, Dolphin Neurostism vagus nerve stimulator, and Copper Hands which are anti-inflammatory gloves, are all products I use to help me perform better in sport and in my daily life.
For many years, I have researched schollarly journals, medical studies, about frequencies and the beneficial effects they can have on the body. I struggled for many years to maintain my health in which I documented my journey of illness and healing through food, medicine, and holsitics. Getting in tune with my body was the most hands on way of learning what affects us and how. Having control of these frequencies with a touch of a button on your shirt or pants at any time you need, that's what bishgosh will be.

Design Vision¶
Woven Infused¶
Inspired by the anti inflammatory properties of copper and the ability to infuse bioplasma into metal makes this an attractive option of production by weaving the bio infused metal into the garnment/textile.
With this option I will need to figure out *HOW* can the bio plasma be infused and stay active. *CAN* you wash the fabric without ruining the bio plasma properties, and how many washes can it handle before the properties become ineffective if they even will? Can hertz still vibrate this way through metal?
Tubing System¶
An internal tubing system that flows the healing liquid at the desired hertz frequency to the necessary target spots to promote healing, pain relief or alleviate nervous system disregulation, etc. whatever the issue may be.
This option I will need to focus on avoiding potential leaking of the garnment, would it be easily washable, will it be thin enough or moveable enough for comfort, also can it be produced without PFAs?
Plastic Inserts¶
Bioplasma also infuses well into plastic, which gave me the idea of removeabel inserts like sports shin pads. Inserts could be done custom to target individuals area of concern.
This option, being the least desireable because it doesnèt align with my importance or sustainability. I hesitate the plastic inserts will not be thin or maluable enough for moveability and comfort. It also may be annoying to remove the plastic inserts to wash the garnment, would this be necessary?
Aesthetic Inspiration¶
Focus Market¶
* Neuroddivergents with sensory issues
* People with chronic illness or disabilities
* Those with no/limited access to health care
* Refugees, homeless and other displaced persons
* Athletes & Outdoorsy
Marketability¶
A couple different options I have in mind for the marketability of bishgosh fabric. Either I could start my own garnment brand like Lululemon's Luon or Goretex. Second, I could solely produce the textile, manufacture and distribute to companies like MEC, Arcteryx, Patagonia, Nike, Underarmour, etc. Third, I could straightline into sports customs, partnering with pro leagues like the NHL, NBA, PGA, Olympic Teams, etc. designing jerseys and uniforms to target not only player performance but also injuries to help promote shorter healing time for players.
Week 1 Learning¶
This week we learned about coding on Gitlab. This week I struggled with adding images to my code and having my photos show up on my website. Thankfully with the help of my prof I was able to alter the code by adding ../ before my url route to have the images show up.
