About me¶
Introduction¶
Hello! My name is Gabríella Kamí Árnadóttir, and I am 24 years old. I live in Iceland, in the city of Kópavogur. I graduated from FB, which stands for Fjölbrautaskólinn í Breiðholti. At FB, I majored in Fashion and Textiles and minored in Arts and Innovation, combining my love for design and creative problem-solving.
I chose my major because I have always been passionate about creating. From a young age, I enjoyed making things around the house—whether it was clothes for my sister’s dolls, outfits for my teddy bears, or costumes for my sister herself. For many years, I saw this as just a hobby, but as I grew older, I realized it was something I wanted to pursue professionally. My education in Fashion and Textiles allowed me to refine my skills, explore new techniques, and channel my creativity into meaningful projects.
Figure Skating¶
In addition to my love for design, I have a lifelong passion for figure skating. I have been practicing and competing since I was five years old, and the sport has been a significant part of my life. I am now a coach for my league, where I primarily work with the youngest group of skaters, aged 6 to 10. Coaching has been an incredibly rewarding experience, as I get to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport while helping young skaters grow and succeed. Additionally, I often volunteer as an extra coach within my league when needed, further supporting my skating community.
Previous work¶
Fab Academy 2024¶
I completed Fab Academy 2024. I chose a final project that was animatronic wings with LEDs. They were designed for my sister and she has scoliosis and paralysis. Therefore the harness needed to be lightweight and adjustable. They also had to be able to be worn under clothing.
Electric Geek¶
It is a company that I founded after my dog, Lady, became paralyzed in her hind leg. The company collaborates with animal hospitals to make wheelchairs for rehabilitation and daily use.
Reflection¶
Through my experiences in design, figure skating, and entrepreneurship, I have developed a deep passion for creativity, innovation, and helping others. Whether I’m designing wearable technology, coaching young athletes, or creating mobility solutions for pets, I am committed to using my skills to improve the lives of those around me. I look forward to continuing to explore new opportunities and pushing the boundaries of what I can create.
