About me

I am Kwizera Ganza Eliane Josee, a highly industrious, motivated, and productive businesswoman specializing in crocheting and knitting. I run a thriving business where we create a wide variety of handcrafted items, including dresses, scarves, baskets, bags, blankets, baby outfits, and even shoes, all made from high-quality yarns.

I am skilled in addressing customer concerns and committed to ensuring complete satisfaction with every product. With strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments, I have over a year of experience managing my production business. I am detail-oriented, particularly when it comes to accurate order processing and payment handling, which ensures smooth and efficient operations.

As a proven team player, I collaborate seamlessly with colleagues, always striving to meet and exceed both customer and business expectations.

My background

I was born in Kigali City, where my passion for fashion began at an early age. As a child, I would repurpose bedsheets into dresses, showcasing them in fashion shows at my high school. This early creative experimentation sparked a lifelong interest in the textile and fashion world.

Though my academic journey led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Crop Sciences, I have always maintained my love for fashion and creativity. Today, I run my own business focused on crocheting and knitting, producing a variety of handmade items such as dresses, scarves, bags, and baby outfits. This venture has allowed me to combine my artistic vision with practical skills in design and production.

My interest in joining Fabricademy stems from a desire to expand my knowledge of new technologies in the textile field and explore innovative approaches to fashion and wearables. I believe the program's interdisciplinary nature, combining hands-on making with expert-led online classes, will provide me with the skills needed to evolve my business and embrace the future of sustainable and tech-driven fashion. Fabricademy aligns perfectly with my passion for crafting and my vision to push the boundaries of textile design.

Previous work

Throughout my career, I have developed skills that align closely with the innovative and interdisciplinary approach of Fabricademy. As an Assistant Production Manager at Smart Design Ltd, I was responsible for managing design projects from concept to completion, a role that required creativity, precision, and an understanding of the design process—qualities essential in fashion and textiles. My experience in the Hinga Weze project further strengthened my analytical skills, teaching me the importance of reliable data collection, which can be applied to textile production when making data-driven decisions about materials and processes. Participating in exhibitions with Good Brand Ltd gave me firsthand experience in showcasing creative work, an important aspect of the fashion industry. Additionally, founding and managing Unique Crochet Ltd has allowed me to combine my passion for fashion with practical business management, overseeing the creation of handcrafted crochet and knitwear. My varied experiences reflect my dedication to both the creative and technical aspects of design, making Fabricademy an ideal next step in my journey to explore new technologies and techniques in textiles.
