Welcome!

I'm Naim Al-Haj Ali, a mechatronics engineer and digital fabrication enthusiast from Amman, Jordan. Having completed Fab Academy, where I explored the intersection of engineering and design, I am excited to dive deeper into the world of textiles and technology through Fabricademy. My goal is to push the boundaries of what's possible by blending traditional craftsmanship with modern fabrication techniques.

Education:

  • I pursued my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering at Bahcesehir University in Istanbul, Turkey, from 2019 to 2023.

  • I also undertook a minor in Building Technologies and Environmental Control Systems at the Architecture Faculty of Bahcesehir University from 2020 to 2022.

Previous Projects:

Project A: Automated Home Garden

I designed and built an automated home garden, facilitating effortless gardening for city dwellers. Combining automated watering and optimized lighting, the design fosters plant growth with minimal effort.

Project B: 3D Printer for Concrete Composites

I developed a specialized 3D printer for concrete composites as part of my bachelor's degree graduation project. The printer featured a custom single-screw extruder design and a cost-effective approach.

Project C: 3D Hand Scanner for Custom Splint Production

For my Fab Academy final project, I designed and developed a 3D Hand Scanner utilizing photogrammetry, aimed at refining and automating the process of custom splint production. The scanner captures precise 3D models of the hand, which are then used to design custom-fit splints. The goal was to streamline the design and manufacturing process, reducing time and increasing accuracy for medical applications.

Project D: CNC Machine for 3D Textured Art

As part of the Fab Academy machine week, I collaborated on designing and constructing a CNC machine equipped with a silicone caulking extruder. This machine was capable of creating intricate 3D textured art pieces by precisely extruding silicone onto surfaces. The project explored the potential of combining traditional CNC technology with unconventional materials to create unique artistic expressions.

Adding images

there are many way to add an image, most important is that the images are optimised - check out the tip for more info

Tip

remember to resize and optimize all your images. You will run out of space and the more data, the more servers, the more cooling systems and energy wasted :) make a choice at every image :) This image is optimised in size with resolution 72 and passed through tinypng for final optimisation. Remove tips when you don't need them anymore!

About me

you can introduce yourself in many ways! audio, images, video..
