2. Digital bodies

During the second week, we learned about digital bodies, we scan and edit the 3D model to create a final work using laser-cut. To begin with, we looked at how the human body started to be represented, how proportions were depicted before, and how they are now. We also discussed the stereotypes of human bodies throughout history and explored some references from artists who work with the human form.

Process and workflow

In class, we learned how to scan bodies or objects we want using different tools: an Xbox Kinect sensor, a scanner, and a mobile phone.

For my design, I decided to add spikes to an arm, using the cone tool in Rhino

The laser cut nesting 2 was created using Slicer for Fusion.

i use stacked slice in mm and save the document in STL

After finishing the design, we sent the file to be cut on the laser machine. We not only learned how to use it but also the safety measures
