BioPatchwork

BioPatchwork is an exploration of how to use textile waste to create durable new fabrics. The composite of textile waste and alginate-based biomaterial is created by placing waste fabric in patchwork formations and binding with bio-”glue”. This process requires minimal labor and skill. The pieces are made to last – but only as long as needed, and then they can be easily dissolved back into scraps and the remaining biomaterial solution can be bio-degraded.
