1. State of the art, project management and documentation¶
Research & Ideation¶
My portrait drawn with Fresco on iPad
The question is, how can I present myself in one image? I’m looking at myself in the mirror, and I know people will recognize me by my heavy, fluffy white hair and those funny glasses. They are bicolors, transparents, and oversized. That’s it. I get it. My identity will be two blue and pink transparent circles. It will represent my character, sometimes quiet and calm and organized, sometimes very energetic and enthusiastic.

Indigo¶
Indigo is a very particular blue: it makes me quiet and peaceful, and it expresses quality textile art, craft, and design.
«Indigo is the color of questions, not answers.»
Pink¶
The pink is subversive, very vivid, and energizing. It’s like salt on food; it raises the taste.
«Pink was once the color of revolution, dyed in bloodroot and rebellion.»
Violet¶
Nor warm nor cold, the color is what you want to see. Violet color is the result of a combination of indigo and pink. Complex, this color reflects complexity and originality.
«Violet is the thread between heaven and earth, too rich for the common cloth, too deep for the careless eye.»
All quotes are from Jean-Gabriel Causse, friend for ever, French expert in colors, author of "The Secret Lives of Color"; French original title: "Dictionnaire amoureux des couleurs", Penguin Books 2017
Logotype¶
I drew circles in pink and indigo, meaningless but straightforward. After a moment, I put 2 points in the middle, that’s it, I get it! The gaze is present and intense, bringing life to the logo.
Icons¶
It’s obvious I need to create a full design. Step one, icons. Let’s create a librairy of icons in 3 colors with Fresco on my Ipad with a pencil. I like this spontaneous design. I've put them in my website, I don't if it's needed…

What's Fabricademy for me?¶
After almost 30 years of graphic design and a few space design projects, I would reconsider my job. I’ve always loved textile design and technology. It sounded weird. First, I searched for a textile design education program; in parallel, I was developing manufacturing skills using laser cutters and CNC machines for educational material.
Fadricademy responds exactly to my needs: textiles AND technology. The pieces of the puzzle fit together to perfection.
I wish to utilize all my talents to create artistic installations for public exhibitions, combining textiles and technology to develop small interactive objects and large immersive spaces.
