Modular fashion employs detachable or interchangeable garment components to enhance clothing longevity, minimize waste, and support sustainability initiatives. By integrating flexibility with circular economy principles, it redefines clothing as adaptable and reusable systems rather than single-use products.

References & Inspiration

As a child, I often picked and collected four-leaf clovers on my way home from school, captivated by their unique shape and the symbolism of luck and vitality they represent. This childhood experience has deeply influenced my approach to fashion. I have chosen to design modular clothing that embodies the themes of life, growth, and resilience, inspired by the four-leaf clover. By creating garments that are detachable, reusable, and adaptable, I aim to promote a zero-waste, circular economy within the fashion industry. Each modular piece reflects a commitment to sustainability, versatility, and the natural cycles of renewal.

lASER CUTING OF THE DESIGN

I began by importing my design file into the Thunder Laser software, ensuring it was in a compatible vector format such as DXF. I then scaled and positioned the design appropriately for the material size, set the cutting and engraving parameters including power, speed, and frequency for various lines, and verified that the paths were continuous and correctly layered. Finally, I conducted a simulation preview to confirm accuracy before initiating the job on the laser cutter.

footnote fabrication files

Fabrication files are a necessary element for evaluation. You can add the fabrication files at the bottom of the page and simply link them as a footnote. This was your work stays organised and files will be all together at the bottom of the page. Footnotes are created using [ ^ 1 ] (without spaces, and referenced as you see at the last chapter of this page) You can reference the fabrication files to multiple places on your page as you see for footnote nr. 2 also present in the Gallery.
