Hi, I'm Rita¶
I'm a 23-year-old fashion design graduate from Lisbon, Portugal. I began my studies at ESAD in Porto, in the north of Portugal, where I strengthened my creative skills and developed my design process. The freedom I had there allowed me to explore my creativity more deeply. This was especially valuable because I had studied economics in high school. Yeah, I know - it makes total sense, right?
In my final year, I decided to move to a university in Lisbon that focused more on the technical side of fashion design, particularly pattern-making and garment construction. Studying in these two different environments allowed me to develop both my creative and technical skills.
Through this website, I want to share my interests, what inspires me, some of the work I have already produced, and my research process. Research is the part I find most interesting because it allows me to understand other people's thought processes - how they develop their ideas, what influences them, and why they think the way they do. For me, this curiosity creates space for learning, exchange, and human connection.

Background & Previous Work¶
Fashion, for me, has always been a way of building a world. Every piece I make starts as a concept, then becomes a narrative with a beginning, a middle, and an end - a story expressed through materials, construction, and design rather than words.
What draws me most is that moment of transformation: taking an abstract idea and giving it a tangible form that someone can wear, touch, or live with.
