My background#


I was born in a nice city called Buenos Aires, though raised at the countryside sorrounded by nature. Since little, I felt attracted to arts & crafts.

Project: MIRAR HACIA ADENTRO. Indumentaria sustentable con identidad local (Sustainable clothing with local identity)#

The aim of the project was to create a line of clothing that had an indigenous sociocultural footprint, meet the standards of sustainable design and that conveyed the identity of the Selk’nam culture, originally from Tierra del Fuego (Argentina), resigning its native values in sustainable garments with functionality and comfort. The research includes the production of all kinds of elements that conform the design process such as research, conceptual panels, textures, samples, illustrative figurines and technical sheets.

This is an overview of it!


Selk’nam culture was analyzed in its purest and wildest state, to achieve the ethnocentric interpretation of their way of thinking, acting and dressing, and then express them in clothing that conveys their identity. The choice of the concept seeks to revitalize the Selk’nam culture, resurge the value of its symbols, ideologies and cultural practices, and print its essence in contemporary society through garments. The symbols and ideologies that stand out are the circular, triangular and conical representations, the optimization of resources, the use of natural resources, strength and power as distinctive qualities, the conception of beauty through handcrafts and its totem cosmovision which highlights the local nature, the cardinal points and the appearance of the gods.

The materials provide the physical means to build identity through the clothing story (relato vestimentario). They also carry the synthesis of existing resources and human effort. Therefore, focusing on the materials is the starting point to give way to the sustainability of the project. In addition, the materials form an essential part of the finished product. They are the ones that make possible to transmit the message through the senses when you are in contact with the garment.

For the production of garments, materials were chosen in detail, to provide a sustainable project while also using local, natural and organic products. Linen, organic cotton, silk, vicuña, alpaca, mohair goat, merino wool and organic bamboo were used.

We created a magazine that replies to slow-life themes, in terms of fashion, art, music, food & lifestyle. At the same time, it was the starting point of my investigation in sustainability.
