8. Computational couture¶
We begin the week with this recitation by Aldo Sollazzo founder of Noumena an interdisciplinary tech company applied to the wearebles and Laura Civetti a insustrial designer and also colaborator and organizer of Reshape forum competition
Here some very interesting proyects to get inspired
Grasshopper¶
After that we have some Rhino & Grasshopper tutorial class with Eugenio Bettucchi class 1, class 2, class 3 to understand the basic tools to be able to create our patterned and be able to print it on the 3d printer Grasshopper is a [plug-in](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug-in_(computing)that functions with Rhino. Is a visual programming language and environment that runs within the Rhinoceros 3D computer-aided design (CAD) application The outputs to these components are then connected to the inputs of subsequent components. So some basics
Here some useful links to start Grassshopper beginners1 & 2 & to find codes easily to put in the number slide component You can download the bifocalplug-in and other for grasshopper here
Making the patterned step by step¶
This is the final exercise from Voronoi parametric design
We start making a square and using the scale. You can write cotas and
Component Range Construct domain output to Component Range (domain) Conect the A & B of Range each one to an Slider number 12-24 Construct point Range conect to X & Y from construct ponit Graft X or Y and you have to get your grid Flat the construction point In this case we are gonna use a tractor point so draw a line first over the grid add a curve in grasshopper and click set one curve to join the draw with the parameter Join circle Conect the point of construction point to the plane of circle Conect the radio of the circle to a 10 number slide
3d printing Eurecat¶
You have the posibilitie of doing long prints, printing horizontal overhangs without support and producing series production of the same or individual parts The two main features of the BlackBelt system are the tipped extrusion system, which is angled at 45 degrees to the print bed, and the print bed itself, which is actually a carbon fiber belt. Objects are printed on the belt, which acts as the Z-axis. However, instead of providing an “up and down” motion, the belt provides a horizontal motion. There are still three axes of motion in the BlackBelt system; they’re just different from the more common Cartesian design.

Cura¶
Ultimaker Cura is a free and easy-to-use 3D printing software,we use it to configure our files to print. You can download from here. Here a short video to instal it for Mac.
and also you can find how to install the latest version of Cura in Windows, & how to configure any printer
Using domains¶

Failed 3d Prints¶
We have some failed pieces from Agnes and I last assignment so we can make a recycle piece with that draff
A interesting colaborative & open source recycle plastic project
