1. State of the art, project management and documentation¶
Research & Ideation¶
For now I don't have a precise idea what kind of project I want to develop. There are different ideas popping up in my head:
Maybe I want to explore the possibility of making artefacts, integrated in clothes, that help blind (older) people stay longer independent and give them a more pleasant live. The classes about E-textile and skin elektronics will help me to finetune my idea and figure out if it is a feasible project.
Or my heart also goes to develop workshops for children to learn them new skills in a textile fablab and transmit them my passion for textile, fabrics and new technologies. I am curious if it is possible to translate the new ... we will learn in the different classes in a way that is understandable and enjoyable for kids.
And then there is my fascination for creating shoes. Twenty years ago I learned the traditional craft of shoemaking. I loved the technical, but very laborous side, of making a new shoe from scratch. In the class 'Digital bodies' I would like to develop a 3D feet and see if it is possible to work with this form to assembly a new shoe on.
References & Inspiration¶
For shoedesign I recently got very much inspired by JUAN FELIPE ENRIQUEZ, alumni of Fabricademy in 2019-2020.

SUZANNE OUDEHENGEL from the Netherlands explores how to combine shoedesign with knitwear.
I like the way AMANDINE DAVID makes you think out of the box and how she combines old tradiotional crafts with new technologies.
Documentation workflow¶
I have never maked a website so it was completely new for me (and very stressfull:-)). For now it is a very basic website.
I mainly used the Fabricademy 2023-2024 Tutorial Visual Documentation.
Fabricademy 2023-24 Tutorials Visual Documentation from Fabricademy, Textile Academy on Vimeo.
And I also used the very helpful Markdown guide:
