References & Inspiration¶
I aspire to create a project that serves as a bridge between Armenian heritage and modern trends. By incorporating elements of Armenian culture and the art of embroidery, I aim not only to preserve traditions but also to inspire a new generation of designers. My project seeks to make Armenian embroidery relevant and appealing to contemporary audiences, showcasing its versatility and beauty. In the future, I hope that my contribution will help revive interest in our roots and promote the development of a unique Armenian aesthetic in the world.
Using resources from the Armenian Museum of America’s Textile Collection, I explored a rich array of Armenian craftsmanship through photographs.
The collection includes exceptional examples of:
- Handwoven carpets
- Intricate embroidery
- Other traditional textile arts that beautifully showcase Armenian cultural heritage 🧵✨

In addition to embroidery, I am particularly drawn to the profound and intricate stories embedded in Armenian mythology. By weaving these mythological tales into my designs, I hope to give them deeper meaning and value, enriching the storytelling aspect of my work. Each piece will not only be a visual representation of our heritage but also a narrative that invites viewers to connect with our history and the timeless lessons it offers.
And here are some fashion designers who have truly inspired me with their unique vision, creativity, and commitment to making fashion not just about style, but also about culture.
Documentation workflow¶
Steps I Took to Learn GitLab and Web Development
Step 1¶
I began my journey by registering on fablabs.io. This platform provided me with access to various resources and a community that supports makers and designers.
Step 2¶
Once I registered, I familiarized myself with GitLab's interface. I explored the various features available, including repositories, issues, and merge requests.
To build my web development skills, I turned to W3Schools.
I started with the basics of HTML and CSS, going through tutorials and examples to understand how to structure and style web pages.
Step 3¶
After gaining some foundational knowledge, I created a new project in GitLab. This project served as a practical application of what I had learned about web development. With my new project set up, I began exploring the MKDocs folder structure. I examined how MKDocs organizes content, configurations, and documentation to better understand how to utilize this framework for my project.
Step 4¶
As I progressed, I integrated my HTML and CSS knowledge into my GitLab project, using the MKDocs structure to create well-organized documentation and web content.
I continued to explore additional resources and examples to enhance my skills, ensuring that I remain up-to-date with best practices in web development and GitLab usage.
