A relevant project, interesting both for cosplay and performative events! As long as you are considering to develop this bodysuit to be adapt to different performances on stage, don’t hesitate to combine it with various costumes on top for your next presentation. How would you imagine your further developments in cosplay ? Would you create on demand or would propose this bodysuit as a commercialised item? How could you make it adaptive to various situations ? I would recommend you to include various sensors to let it react to its environment. The use of light in the costume combined with interaction will be very impressive for the spectators.

  • add references for materials, techniques, costumes you are aiming to achieve in terms of design, include 3d printing and 3d print on fabrics
  • i would focus on modularity, including snap buttons to bring conductivity for leds to work
  • i would start with boards like the circuit playground that has many sensors already integrated like temperature of theb body, accelerometer tilt sensor, etc..
  • create some ai generated pictures for inspirations of applications

Hi Gabriella, what a heartwarming project! I'm sure your sister is thrilled with the second iteration of the suit you made for her. I would love to see a video of her wearing and performing with the electronic suit!

Gabriella...this came to mind when you showed the image of muscle. https://news.mit.edu/2014/second-skin-spacesuits-0918 Fantastic that you have already gotten your first functional prototype made already! You are on your way to crossing the Final Presentation finish line brilliantly! Some random thoughts for your suit...perhaps you can think of your suit/shapeware as a sub-structure for attaching cosplay external shapes on to? Imagine a suite with little 3D printed connectors sewn into it everywhere (in a grid pattern?) so that cosplay ornaments could be attached to them easily and remain in place. If some of these connections are maid with metal (like snap buttons)...they could be used to conduct electricity to cosplay components that require power? For FP...just making the body suit is a good start...but having some cosplay ornaments to give us a sense of how it would work as part of a cosplay costume would be really important. Good luck realizing this very cool idea!
