Nishtha Kaushik Social Engineer

Live to work, work to welfare

Hola ! Educationist and a social entrepreneur, co-founder of Chandigarh (U.T.)’s Sole digital fabrication lab, Zios Makerspace, Nishtha is currently focused on providing access to state of the art infrastructure and opportunities to the local community in and around Punjab, India. Currently,a research scholar from Panjab University, one of the oldest Universities of India, her Ph.D’s study is focused on social implications of emerging technologies vis-a-vis studying different models on space, innovation and skill development in India. She is a globally certified instructor in both digital fabrication and emergent technologies in the field of wearables by Fab Foundation, Boston, USA with FabLab Chandigarh. It gives us immense pleasure and we pride ourselves to be carrying out fab awareness activities among youth for North Indian states.
Born in New Delhi and brought up in Chandigarh. I have been involved in many roles but all lead me to use and explore technology and also involve women to this field.

I did my Fab academy from MIT's first lab outside USA, Fablab 0, major reason was to experience technology in a remote area and understand how its different from an urban setup and helps align our focus on grassroots. I am really thankful to Dassault 3D systems for their support for Textile Academy and to give us an opportunity to introduce this new field to our Fab Lab and to our city "Chandigarh".
