1. State of the art, project management and documentation

This is the first prototye: this web page will be changing while I learn new tools to edit and upload content (editing images, html, Markdown...) I follwed a well explained guide to start uploading content through GitLab. You can find this guide here

I started by following Fiore's tutorial. Recitation 02

Then I checked the Documentation guide where you can always go back in case you are missing something.

I started by creating and account using your assigned name as it appears in the list of students. In my case andres.basantes

log in

It has an Introduction

/ helps you getting started

/ Shows you how to edit content

/ Optimize content

/ Customize theme

/ Troubleshooting

/ Working offline and it also has some References

Gitbal interface

-Once you finish this quick guide, try with Markdown as well

-It is also worth to learn HTML with CodeAcademy, this webpage is easy to follow and very friendly.

Although it takes some time at the beginning, the process of documenting should become more organic. Changes will be easier after some practice.

Working Offline

It is also possible to work offline through Git by "pushing" and "pulling" data to/from the web. This allows you to make changes offline and then update those modifications.

This is step by step guide which illustrates how it works.

  1. Download and install Git
  2. Create a folder to save all course resources. Name it
  3. right click on the folder, click on "get Git here"
  4. Select create a new repository. You will copy/paste the web address from your personal GitLab repository

  1. Login for Git Credential Manager

  1. Now you can pull data, edit it and push it back to upload your web page.

6.1 Type "git pull" to download the current information and resources you have in your web page. 6.2 to confirm everything is up to date you can type "git status". This will show you the last changes you have committed.

6.3 You can also comment your changes by typing "git comment -m". Leave your comments between quotation marks (""). 6.4 After leaving a comment so evaluators can Understand what you have changed, type "git push" to upload all the work done. 6.5 In my case, the program asked for a login account. I used same Name as it is in the students list from GitLab repossitory: andres.basantes and my personal password which I previously set on GitLab

Personal Project

For my Final project I am looking for an intersection between Design, electronics and Biology. First ideas are visualized through a living organism that grows under controlled restrictions in order to create a Designed product or an object that can be used in a designed product.

it should work as an articulated body that works in three steps:

FOOD/MACHINEBOX/PRODUCT

Inspiration

Inspiration comes from the developed work from Scientist/ designers/ very skilled explorers as Neri Oxman, Suzan Lee, Maurizio Montalti Essi Johanna Glomb and Rasa Weber (Left to right in the photo).

Some links from designers who are working in topics I see as reference.
