Fabracadabra!

Hello, I'm Benjamin Scott. Nice to see you here.

How did I get into the world of makers, fab labs, machines, distributed stuff, did you not ask? I'm going to tell you anyway.

It all started a long long time ago, in 2017. I was introduced to the Fab Lab Barcelona by a friend who was working there (hello Ingi). He told me about this magical space with tools where you can make EVERYTHING. He lied. It was actually "almost anything", but that was good enough.

For a few years I hung out there, helping with some projects here and there, making some videos, drinking beers with its working residents. I liked the Fab Lab world and people, and wanted to get more involved.

In 2020 I decided to do the Fab Academy. It was 6 months of intense - but super enjoyabe - learning. Learning about electronics, machines, tools, making, materials, logic, code, brain explosions, collaborations.

In 2021 Anastasia proposed I'd do the Fabricademy class. I had thought of doing it previously, but didn't really have a specific reason to. I had no projects in mind, no ideas to develop, but I thought: "More learning? Why not". (I'm not sure why I'm writing in the past, that was like... 2 days ago.)

So, here I am, doing Fabricademy, ready to grow materials, make mushrooms, eat colours and plenty of other crazy activities.

I did Fab Academy in 2020, check out my documentation from back then.
