State of the art

📅 This week started on tuesday september 21st. I was really excited and waiting for introducing myself but suddenly my internet conection collapse. Any way, it was really nice to meet (virtualy) all people from the nodes. This week we had an introduction about the program and some tutorials for the documentation and visual content that we'll need for all the program.

▪️ What I made??

🗹 Build a documentation website describing myself and my motivation for the textile-academy, including my previous work

🗹 Upload the documentation to my project page on class.textile-academy.org

🗹 Add references and research based on the topics of my interest

🗹 Learn how to upload images, videos, references and how to use markdown and gitlab

🗹 Customize my website and document how you did it

  • Mkdocs is the site generator we're using to build the documentation. There are many ways to modify and personalize everything!

  • ▪ Let's talk about:

    My motivation for this program

In 2019 I met fablab and started to have my first approaches with rapid prototyping and digital fabrication. Since the first moment I knew about this program I got really interested (I was afraid too!). I was asking myself "What can I do with digital fabrication? So, after thinking for long hours, I realized that as an industrial designer (in formation) I'm able to do many things with digital fabrication. I also have to be honest, before this, I didn't feel that fashion is my passion; but I've always believe that there is so much to do with textiles and right now I wanna be part of this amazing future of fashion that is coming!

My aspiration is to develop a final project that:

    ▪ matches my expectations

    ▪ is attractive because of it's meaning

    Other goals at Fabricademy:

    ▪ Build my first design portfolio, focused on the textile sector and generate content to expand my presence in social networks with the learned assignments

    ▪ Contribute to my local lab

    ▪ Teach and collaborate with more people from the lab who join the program in the future

    ▪ What is gonna be my project about?

With my final project I'll probably focus more on myself than in others, because I've always done more things for other people and created products that attend others' necessities, but with this journey at Fabricademy I want to explore more about myself. Initially, I've thought about this project called as.phyx.i.a and I loved the idea to make something similar to this ⬇️.

Also I like the dressing from this music video ⬇️ (I think it is all digital but it looks very real). I love the different textures covering the body and also the great colors it has! and I thought that recreating some of this funny and colorful outfits would be interesting too!

But, as the weeks went by, I didn't know what to focus on. In each assingment I wanted to discover something new in me and look for the things that I really like and enjoy.

    ⚠️ Spoiler Alert
  • In the fifth week , I realized that I am very attracted to body accessories, especially necklaces. Also I loved the computational couture week! I enjoyed every minute of that week. And... the rest of this story it's in the implications & applications tab
