The Archive of Emotion¶
Introduction: Burried Emotions¶
Human emotions are powerful yet intangible forces that shape our decisions, relationships, and identity. Often ambiguous and misunderstood, emotions affect us in ways we rarely notice. The Archive of Emotion seeks to make these unseen feelings visible by transforming them into wearable art. Using digital fabrication, fashion, and technology, this project creates a tangible map of our emotional landscape, offering a unique perspective on our inner world.
Inspiration: The Suffering And The Struggle of Understanding Emotions¶
This project is deeply personal, inspired by my struggles with understanding emotions and the journey toward self-awareness. I realized that self-awareness is essential for emotional maturity and navigating our inner worlds. The concept is to visualize how emotions fluctuate and accumulate over time by transforming them into wearable garments. These tangible representations of emotional complexity aim to help people embrace and better understand their feelings.

What¶
This project creates a garment that captures a snapshot of our humanity. By using physical cues—such as body temperature, EEG waves, or heart rate—it transforms intangible emotions into tangible clothing and textiles. Through documenting emotional fluctuations, the garment becomes a wearable representation of each person’s unique emotional journey. It is not just about patterns or data but about storytelling through design—creating a piece that embodies our inner world and invites reflection.

The Goal¶
Why¶
The Journey Emotional Maturity¶
This project aims to make people aware of the countless emotions we experience daily, often without noticing. I believe emotional maturity begins with self-awareness—acknowledging and understanding what we feel is the first step. By visualizing emotions, I want to provoke deeper connections with ourselves and encourage people to recognize and embrace their feelings. This project is a call for self-reflection, showing that our emotions are not fleeting—they shape who we are.

How?¶
The process begins with collecting data that reflects emotions through physiological indicators.
This data will be processed through algorithms to translate emotional fluctuations into visual forms—lines, densities, or abstract patterns. Tools like Grasshopper for Rhino will map this data into parameters that can be fabricated.
The fabrication process will combine digital and traditional techniques, including:

Who¶
For people seeking self-discovery, this project offers a reflective journey into emotional complexity. It also speaks to designers, artists, psychologists, and technologists intrigued by the intersection of art, technology, and human emotion. Additionally, it’s for curators and collaborators exploring innovative storytelling through wearable art.
When and Where¶
This project is timeless. Emotions are a universal and constant aspect of the human experience, making this exploration relevant in any era. Whether it’s exhibited today or years from now, the concept of visualizing emotions will always resonate.
This project is adaptable to multiple contexts. It could be featured in art galleries, fashion showcases, or interdisciplinary exhibitions that bridge art, technology, and psychology. It’s also suitable for public installations or immersive events where audiences can interact with the concept and reflect on their emotional journeys.
