11. Implications and applications

This week we had to come up with ideas for the final project. It's the time where we can be creative and work on our own concept or develop some previous projects with a new approach. So many ideas don't know from where to start!

Creating the Concept

  • Name the Project: FROM A CANVA TO A WEARABLE, not the final name yet

  • Concept: An Interactive Installation that is tranformed into a limited edition garment

  • Location: Outdoor Gallery, a place close to nature
  • Scenario: The muse paints with natural dyes and biomaterials then takes the piece of canvas and wears it

References & Inspiration

Answering the questions WHO?,WHAT?,WHEN?,WHY? helped me develop the idea

Moodboard

When?

Location in an outdoor Gallery a space connected with nature and the future moving music during Spring/Summertime

Why?

  • Rethink the way we see an artpiece in galeries or someone's interior and give a different proposal
  • Rethink the use of Acrylics which are toxic, create Art that would be closer to nature by applying different techniques with biomaterials and natural dyes like an Eco-Art piece.

Who?

Artists and Performers or even festival lovers, connect people with Art, Nature and Music

What?

Different Possibilities:

  • a large piece of Canvas that will attract people to paint on
  • As an Art Performance-someone can paint on the canvas with natural dyes and then wears the canvas as a garment in different ways
  • The art piece and piece of Textile, garment can be placed back in nature? need to research more how it could be possible

Materials and Techniques

I want to explore more the technique of block printing to create different paterns also develop the marbling technique.

  • Test if the marbling technique will work with natural dyes
  • Test the clay with Agar recipe to create texture and then dye it
  • work with wool as it is easy to apply different natural dyes and the result of color tones are bright enough
  • Walnut Ink
  • Logwood Ink
  • Coffee ground recipe
  • Orange peels
