State of the Art, Project Management and Documentation

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Where this upcoming journey as newborn designer will take me?

Research

I believe that the first step for any design process is the creation of the concept, which is developed through on-site visits to places and cultures that you decide to take as inspiration. But to understand and get answers to WHAT? HOW? WHY? HOW? This should be complemented with interviews, visits, Anthropological, Ethnographic and Sociological research.

Some Tips for the NEW FAB LAB Members:

  • Ask, ask and ask.
  • Practice, practice nad practice the new upcoming tecnhologies you will be learning.
  • Register your personal reflexions and thoughts during this journey, they could be the ancestral knowledge of the FUTURE.
  • Documentation is a empowering tool for YOU and FUTURE designers.
  • Keep a separated file (Notepad, Google Keep), where you can keep the name of the different pictures that will be part of your documentation, then It will be easier for you to copy and paste in your upcoming documentations.
  • Videos: I found Giphy and Vimeo more useful for uploading videos related to the different modules you will be learning. Although, keep an additional copy in Youtube, because as you know YOUTUBE is the third social plattform for communicating after Facebook and WhatsApp.
  • Adding papers or documents: It's much better if you download them first in Google Drive and then made the file as Public Access, so then you can include the link related to the documentation you would like to share.
