My documentation¶
Hi! I'm Claudia Neyra and I want to welcome you to this space of great learning with a spark knowledge.
Here, I will sher you my journey through Fabricademy, showing how science, art and my faith can come together in harmony. I hope that each of my projects serves as a source of inspiration for you to discover new technologies, develop new projects, improve existing products, unleash your creativity to the fullest, and get to know me a little better through what I share in my assignments. I don't consider myself an expert in the field, but I know that everything is a process, and I am eager to learn.
About me¶
To share a little bit more about myself… I am from Peru, a country rich in biodiversity and with immense potential for developing projects focused on its natural wealth. Ever since I was a child, I have always been curious and creative, and I loved science courses focused on nature, such as biology and chemistry. That is why I decided to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering, and I am currently a licensed engineer. I am particularly interested in topics related to biotechnology, bioprocesses, biomaterials, and the development of projects using agro-industrial waste.
My background & previous work¶
Nowadays, I work at ESAN University teaching practical (experimental) chemistry labs to Industrial and Environmental Engineering students. My experience as an educator has allowed me to discover my students' curiosity and desire to engage in research projects related to biomaterials, agro-industrial waste upcycling, work with microorganisms, among others, as shown in the following images.
Regarding previous work experience, I do not have much to show yet. However, together with my science lab team and some students from the faculty, we are currently working on projects focused on producing bio-leather from SCOBY, mycelium, and agro-industrial waste, as well as obtaining biochar from fish waste and paper industry byproducts.
Motivation¶
I'm participating in this program because I'm interested in expanding my knowledge in the fields of materials science and biotechnology, particularly in their application to upcycling agro-industrial waste using microorganisms. I believe that integrating this knowledge with a textile approach will significantly enrich my perspective for developing new research projects and innovative proposals.
In this regard, my interest goes beyond acquiring technical knowledge; I also aim to explore how these concepts can be transformed into creative and sustainable solutions to current environmental challenges.
