Week 12: Skin Electronics

Status: Documented

11 Dec, 2018

Post the lecture, my understanding of this week is to try and come up with a safe way of mounting electronics onto the human body. The turban is the second skin of Sikhs as we do not expose our long hair in the public. The turban would therefore need a third skin which was accomplished in a helmet of sorts that is mountable even on a turban. So now the intention would be to design a third skin on a second skin of sikhs-the turban's turban. Confusing !! To top it, am changing the theme of that helmet to make it appear like a pirate now. Lets get on it then Mate!! Aye Aye!!

Am taking my E-textiles assignment of RGB with an LDR as it seemed apt for this week too.

UPDATE:
After programming the attiny with an arduino, the focus is now to create a fictional moment wherein a far far land away, when it turns dark, the pirate comes alive and his one good eye opens and turns evil with multiple colors. After showing 9 colors it again falls asleep. When the sun comes down(light falls below 400 in Analog in), the pirate again wakes up. Arghhhh!!!

MOM: "Git pushed your final assignment yet" ,Me: "Aye Aye Captain Mom"

Conversation between Mom and myself on the same topic for the 'n'th Time. Had it not been for her care and motherly monitoring, I could have been sure, my assignments due dates would be missed. Thanks mom. :-)

Tips and Tricks

Info Panel

Conductive ink needs to be a solid continuity. You cannot afford to have any ink breaks.

Warning Notes

Let the ink dry completely before heading to seal it.

Danger Panel

Use materials that will not burn up with slightest of voltates. Do not use any flamable material.

Success Panel

A thick even coating of ink with natural drying and immediate sealing thereafter is your best shot to retain its properties.

F.A.Q.

I usually ask the Global team or myself questions relevant to the week's task.I plan to use this section to help me document for our lab's next batch of students important questions and their answers discussed during Global review/Recitation.

Conductive ink comes in broader pens or small containments. I refilled an ink flow fountain pen with this ink and then used it to draw over.
