10. E-Textiles and Wearables II

How do you make something wearable? Why do we wear tech? 1. Self expression 2. Communication 3. Protection

What will the function be? ( considerations)

  1. Durability
  2. Wearability
  3. Washasbiliy
  4. Power
  5. Circuit layout

Considerations

Visibility Privacy Sustainability

State changes possible in wearable can happen in three forms:

  1. Visually with LEDS, through hole LED, Surface mount LEDS challlenge difficult to sutter, Sewable LEDS. Side emitting tends to have less cladding. Bad idea for fiber optics heat shrinking and easy glue.
  2. Sound
  3. Motion
