6. BioFabricating Materials

This week we discover the endless and magic world of BIOMATERIALS ! I didn’t expect this amount of possibilities and techniques. Obviously there are still a lot of limits for the results you can have, a lot of Fails as well, but the awareness and consciousness that open your view to a limitless range of alternative is priceless!

So the only way is to:

EXPERIMENT FIRST ! EXPERIMENT HARD ! NO MERCY! :D

  1. FLEXIBLE BIO- PLASTIC (TURMERIC ALGINATE) (different resting times)

24g Sodium Alginate 40 g Glycerin 20 g Neem Oil 400 ml Water ( better if distilled) 8 drops Clove Essencial Oil ( too much, but Neem was really stinky) Turmeric - Onions Dye Pigments

instead of red clay I used green one instead of ginger oil I used 3 drops of Bergamote E.O. I used 15 g of Cornstarch + 15 g of Wheat Starch…. I missed 30 g FAIL !!

instead of spirulina filler i used Orange peels and coffee waste instead of bee wax i used organic soja wax

instead of sunflower seeds we used beans

Bio Resin Recipe

127g Pine Resin 127g Ethilic Alcohol + Tea and Mica Pigments

Put the pine resin inside the pot, heating up and wait till the resin start to melt, don't mix it When the Resin is liquid add the alcol and the pigments. Mold it and wait to dry.
