02 PPD. Focus Groups - Mentoring sessions#

January 31st & February 1st, 2022

The Final Projects are clustered into topics and participants get personalized mentoring sessions from a group of selected international professionals. These experts mentor by providing feedback, insights, personal experience and guidance that supports the technical, conceptual and societal development of the final project. To help in the expansion of critical thinking and the validation of the different stages of the project development.

Assignment#

  • Create an overview of your research, process or detailed mind map for receiving feedback
  • Presence / Introduce your concept to the mentor
  • Document the feedback, additional / suggested concepts, references and new findings
  • Hands-on research (when possible) as follow up of the feedback session
  • Create a quick prototype (physical, digital, collage or render)
  • List and (if possible) budget of all foreseen materials and machines required

How will it be evaluated#

  • Presence: Actively attending the mentoring sessions
  • References: document notes/feedback from the Focus Groups in relation to the project topic
  • Design: sketches/preliminary designs of the tools or electronics or processes required (when possible)
  • Fabrication: simple quick prototypes of the custom tools (when possible) and/or their application
  • Final outcome: Iterations and advances of the final project development
  • Originality - Aesthetics: Has the design and innovation been thought through and elaborated
