5. Folding¶
The folding part is especially interesting in the origami variant. When I was at university, I made many objects with paper.
How people make origami shapes:
In this video, the method is to fold and make the lines straighter. In my case, I was “scratching” the lines with a needle and only after that folding them. In this way, thicker paper — or in my case fabric — gets smoother lines and folds better.
I don’t have much to explain here — it’s something you need to try yourself to really understand how it feels.
Because my fabric was quite large, my lab friends helped me fold all the lines and keep them in that position for a long time, allowing the fabric to “remember” the shapes.
