13. Implications and applications¶
Research & Concept¶
My concept idea turns anatomy into textures and structures by using biomaterials as a metaphor and the body as a blueprint of its own design. Blood, Sweat & Tears reimagines fashion by using the human body’s internal structures. Each biomaterial embodies an emotional anatomical element: blood, like bio yarn, represents creativity, energy, and sacrifice, exoskeleton/sweat, as kombucha leather, embodies discipline, endurance, and structure, and tears, as borax crystal fabrics, represent the crystallization of feelings being released.
The science of creativity is that, it requires and involes an honest expression. Creativity is not a single system but it made up of different structures that in many conditions, work together in a way. Although, nobody is exactly alike we all have our own levels of creativity, with that we are capable of being creative, and we can continuously improve on our own creative skills.
The basis of somatic theory is the idea that the body serves as a vessel for physical expression and collection of emotion, memory, labor, and knowledge in addition to being a vessel. This is aligns closely with my work, which uses the body as a speaker and a frame.

References & Inspiration¶
Iris van Herpen’s work combines anatomy and technology, often resembling bodily structures. My perspective on fashion as wearable anatomy is influenced by her experimental fabrication techniques.
Alexander McQueen always played with ideas of strength, softness, and changes by using the human body as an area of focus. His artistic approach inspires me to use anatomy as a means for creativity and security.
Skeletal designs have been utilized by avant garde and streetwear designers to break up different proportions. My work lies in both modern pop culture and creative fashion partly due to these influences.
