About me

I am French and lived in Paris from birth until the age of 25. I have lived in Brussels for 20 years now. I came here for my first job after graduating from engineering school. I stayed for the Belgian way of life, which is much less stressful than the one I knew in Paris, and also for all the friends I made here. In 2008 I met my husband and we have now two kids: Manon, 10 years old and Grabeille, 8.

The things I love in life are enjoying beauty, having fun and eating well.

Beauty – art

Perhaps because I am from Paris, I really love art and enjoy seeing it in museums, galleries and other places. I often miss Paris for its wonderful museums, but on the other hand, Belgium is wonderful for art: there are fewer resources, but more freedom and daringness.

I also enjoy creating art myself. I especially like art that comes from craft, such as ceramics, paper and textiles. It’s so exciting to see how everyday materials can become fine art.

Having fun!

My best moments are:

  • when I invent crazy stories or games with my daughters (I would like to write children's book from them!)
  • When you know you should leave your friends, but you don't because you're enjoying their company so much
  • just doing nothing with people you love

My background & previous work

I am a civil engineer specialising in chemistry and graduated in 2005. I spent 15 years working in the pharmaceutical industry as an engineer and project manager.

In 2019, after having my two daughters, I wanted to make time for myself. That's why I decided to study for a Bachelor's degree in Textile Design. I studied at the HEFF school in Brussels. I learnt about patterns, printing, dyeing, weaving and knitting. It was a very happy time in my life, full of creativity and freedom.

From 2023 onwards, I worked as a FabLab Coordinator at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) (https://fablab.ulb.be/). The role involved balancing engineering, project management and design work.

Beauty – all over the world!

For my final bachelor's project, I explored the perception of beauty. I examined how this perception is shaped by the period and culture in which we live, our education, the country we live in, and our social group. My aim was to demonstrate that beauty is not confined to museums. It is all around us: on the ground, on walls, and above our heads.

If we could open our eyes to see it, it could improve our lives.

My work focuses on small details, errors, decay, dirt and destruction, and how the artist's eye can make these things beautiful.

Image manipulation

Since 2023, I have worked in other art domains. I like learning — it's in my nature — which is why I enjoy exploring new techniques. Then I discovered image manipulation, mainly using Photoshop, but also working directly on printed paper. I also discovered printing techniques such as monotype and silkscreen.
