Hi, I'm Esra'a Al-Shraiedeh,¶
I'm Esra'a a Jordanian visual communication designer, currently exploring what happens when I take my ideas off the screen and start working with materials, machines, textiles, light, and whatever else I can get my hands on. This is where I document the experiments, projects, mistakes, and discoveries.
A little about me¶
I’m naturally curious and always looking for something new to learn or make. During my studies, I became really interested in light design and how light can create an atmosphere, tell a story, and become part of an experience. I enjoy painting, working with clay, and creating things from whatever materials I have around me. I’m also a self-taught piano player, which probably says a lot about how much I enjoy figuring things out on my own.
My Creative Side¶
My inspiration usually starts with observing the things I find interesting, especially the small details that are easy to overlook. I like to stop, ask questions, and try to understand what I'm looking at before turning it into an idea.
I often see things through lines interacting, overlapping, and affecting each other until they slowly form a shape, a structure, or even a certain emotion. I think this way of seeing has become part of how I observe the world and how I naturally approach my work.
Why I Design¶
I enjoy turning ideas into something people can see, feel, and experience. I'm drawn to visual storytelling, using colors, shapes, materials, and spaces to communicate an idea without always needing words. I'm interested in creating experiences and seeing how a design can make someone feel, interact, or look at something differently.
A Bit of Everything¶
This is a collection of the things I've made and explored over the years illustrations, crafts, experiments, and everything in between.
Why Fabricademy¶
I wanted to join Fabricademy because I learn best by making things and trying out materials for myself. I’ve explored light, patterns, and texture in my work, and I’m curious to see what happens when I bring textiles and new ways of making into that process. I’m also excited to learn alongside people with different backgrounds, share ideas, and discover directions I might never have thought of on my own.
