Catsuit

Cutting Pattern

Started by testing the first designed pattern for the catsuit and laser cut the lycra mesh fabric using the following settings

Power :17
Speed : 1.5

After testing it and it needing height adjustments . I decided to change the pattern into this design.

Casting Pattern

What does TrueSkin catsuite presents?

I am more than just a body

We are energy , waves of energy.

Inspired by the 7 Chakra points as being the essence of energy we have.

Using rhino and grasshopper to create a parametric design of these intersecting waves end echo.

I laser cut a clear 3mm Acrylic sheet using the following settings :

Power :100
Speed : 0.6
Then glued the negative parts into another clear Acrylic sheet using Cloroform.

Trying out my Nude variety experiment with Mica Powder for which I used in my silicone casting using Eco flex 00-30 silicone. I only casted some areas to test it out.

The result was interesting but I wanted a lighter more 3d version of this . The colour was more opaque than needed. I was looking for a more translucsent look. Also the cut Acrylic sheet itself was too thick.

After this I felt the need of a connection between TrueSkin in the Metaphysical world and Trueskin in the Physical world. Repepitive units can be a better more effeceient and versatile alternative that can represent the energy waves while connecting the physical appearnce of goosebumps , one of the ways skin communicate. How we physical change due to certain strong emotions.

Cocoon Shell

After printing the shoulder pieces ( the Track ) I started to experiment the connecting area of the cocoon shell pieces to the shoulder pieces. I 3d printed a group of them after a successfully tested one piece using wasp printer and PLA pallets.

Great success!

I proceeded to print a full piece then a couple more.

the pieces were beautifull but with extra movement to the point were they get stuck together.

I tested Epoxy resin using Entropy Resins One and it worked great. creating a flexible yet held together piece.
