The Computational Cummerbund

The project starts with a simple question - do support garments have to look the way they do, or can they be more human ? The question is asked by me, someone who needs a support garment all the time due to congenital issues. The answer I propose is a system that starts with generating a support belt to size, fabricating it out of bio- and eco-friendly materials through digital tools, and wearing it. The belt incorporates the structural fabric that allows both flexibility and support based on directional orientation of the fabric, achieved by tiling the fabric with modular geometric units.
