First steps, courage and confidence

This week at Fabricademy we had to set up our page and work with out GitLab. At fisrt i was very anxious because i've never done something like this. I think i have watched the Fabricademy 2022-23 TUTORIALS GITLAB - JULIAN GALIMORE for about 3 times before i got the courage to start adapting and changing my page. I decided to start with changing my name, and the moment i pressed commit, the emotions in me were all over the palce. I waited a little bit, and when i saw the change apear in my page, OMG, the happiness i felt in that moment is inexplicable. After that i gained a little bit of courage and started to take baby steps in adapting my page. Now, we are here, at the firts assignment and i think i have gained a little bit more confidence to move foward to next step of research and share my ideas with everyone.

To resize the photos i used Photoshop

The hardest part for me was compressing the photos, because most of them had a lot of MB, and i had play around a little to get to a normal KB.

After rezising and compresing i have uplouded the photos in my GitLab

And here is how i added the videos.

References & Inspiration

After the bootcamp and the first lessons at the Fabricademy, i started to think about what i would like to do for my project, in what direction i want to go. Coincidentally that week i went to some ateliers and companies that sew clothes and i saw a lot of material and textile remains. That's when an idea appeared in my head. What if i use this waste and combine it with biomaterials i learned about at the Fabricademy Bootcamp in Geneva? What about i study the theme of circular fashion, zero waste, biomaterials? Having all of these questions in my head i started to do my reaserch on this subject.

Research & Ideation

My first step in reserch was to browse the pages of the Fabricademy participants from last years and their final projects. From there i have selected a few that had similar themes and ideas. The few i have selected are: Dominique VIAL

Conclusion

For me this week was intense and a bit hard because i had to get the hang of how everything works, how to add photos, videos, how to resize and compress and how to work and edit my page. I hope next week will be a little bit easier.
