1. KERATIN POWDER & TAPIOCA

Materials

a. b. c. d.
Keratin powder Tapioca Glycerol Distilled Water
60 g 50 ml 5 g 120 ml

Tools

  • glass jar, weight, spoon, magnetic stirrer, baking paper, acrylic sheet or wooden board

Process

  • Turn on the magnetic stirrer and place the glass jar with the distilled water on the top - turn on preheating.
  • Turn it on 300-500 rpm and slowly add keratin powder - spoon by spoon. Wait till it will dissolve and add more powder. You can also add citric acid and glycerol.
  • Stirr the solution at 60-70'C for 2 h so all the ingredients will be well mixed.
  • Let it cool down and mix it with the tapioca powder. You can play with the mixture with your hands to check if it forms solid paste.
  • Place the biocomposite into a syringe and place it to the holder.

Geometry Slicing

  • Software:
  • Rhino / Grasshopper (clay 3D printing)
  • Repetier
